2006 Yearbook
Lady Townies have 2 All-divisional players for the 2005-06 season!  Captains Michaela Johnson and Liz Mellen both earned 3rd Team honors with Cara Constable receiving honorable mention.

Townies ended their season Friday night against Shea.  "Our season was plagued with Turnovers and lack of consistency from the offense".  Still, the lady Townies proved better than last year's campaign compiling a handful of victories, and keeping every team on the run; earning respect and gaining a positive reputation in our league.

Varsity update:  Shooting only 18% last night, the Lady Townies lost against the Wizards from Warwick 46-40.  "The baskets just weren't falling" ....."It was like a lid was placed on the basket".

Pressure from the Townies proved effective second half, but the girls could not finish with a basket.  Sparks came from the free throw line via Michaela Johnson (6-8) and two bucket totaling 11 points.  Liz Mellen also proved the theory "defense wins games", Liz (8 points) played with pride and tenacity only seen in a Townie.

HEART WRENCHING LOSS TO VETS.
Despite second quarter efforts by our seniors, Townies unable to pull off a much needed victory against League opponent, W.Vets.  With Michaela Johnson's 14 points and Liz Mellen's  12 we were unable to recover from wretched first half play.

TOWNIES LOSE 42-37….

Shooting slump continues for the Lady Townies who with a gallant second quarter (10 points for Liz Mellen) effort still lost to Prout.  The loss was a bitter one for the Lady Townies who are slowly watching their playoff hopes wash away.  With only 7 games remaining in the season, the Townies still have an opportunity to make playoffs, but their shooting/focus has to step-up.

A much needed victory EXTINGUISHED  by turnovers!  A disappointing 27 turnovers plagued the Lady Townies last night in their loss to Chariho, 44-40.  " We just could not hit a lay-up"!  Leading the Townie scoring was Michaela Johnson with 13 points.  Credit for Scrappy defense by Natacha Verela and Sandy Levesque who fought extremely hard in our quest for a conference win.

January 17, 2006
"Townie Pride" hits West Warwick!  Led by senior Nicole Durand, 10 points and Natacha Verela AND Sandy Levesque each contributing 6 points, the Townies won 40-30 against a persistent Wizard team.  Though their was nothing "free" from the free throw line last night (shooting only 5 out of 22) the ladies fought hard on defense making most of their fast break opportunities.

It was a war!!  The battle took place at EP tonight with a victory for the Lady Townies 47-43Shea played aggressive and fought hard, but not hard enough for the Townies.  Early foul trouble had many key Townie players sitting out but  Michaela Johnson (15 points)  Beth Leonardo(11 points) followed by Natacha Verela's (7 points)tenacious drives to the hoop led the Townies to a nail biting victory.

January 10, 2006
Represent!  We are so Proud of our Lady Townies!  Though the ladies lost last night, 74-53; spirit and skill were evident against N. Providence.  Head to head the first half, the Townies went into second half only down by 10 points to the home team Cougars.  Leading the drive was Starsha Tunstall with 19 points and  13 rebounds: yet another impressive game for the sophomore .   Amy Erickson also contributed with 9 points, Michaela Johnson also chipped in for 7 points.

"When we need to make what feels like a simple-altering decision, we clutch.  We are not clairvoyant and can not perceive the future". A disappointing loss to Tiverton, 58-54.  Townies were up the entire game on Tiverton.  With 3 minutes left, Tiverton laid on the pressure and off of one "questionable" turnover; threw up two quick 3's cutting the Townies lead to 4.  Turnovers and tough calls crushed the comfort cushion set-up by the Townies.  This game was a nail biter to the end! OUTSTANDING play by seniors Michaela Johnson (17 points, 6 rebounds ) Liz Mellen(13 points) and Sophomore, Starsha Tunstall (9 points, 11 rebounds).

December 12, 2005
