RELAYS LEAD TOWNIE GIRLS TO 5TH
At the JV States yesterday, the 3 relay teams led the Townies to 5th.
The last race of the night saw the Townie Girls start with a huge lead
and finished first in the 4 x 400m relay. Sierra Cunningham, Kaitlyn
Bellamy, Linsey Covington and Amanda Horton ran a season best time of
4:34.8. The 4 x 200m relay team finished 2nd with a time of 1:56.9, on
this team was Rachael Finn, Deonna DaSilva, Amanda Horton and Sierra
Cunningham. The 4 x 800m Relay finished 5th with a time of 11:44.2,
Catherine Browning, Samantha Labrecque, Tara Andrade and Linsey
Covington made up this team. Other individual scorers were Tori
Anderson 5th in the 20lb. weight thrown with a season best 32'-5".
Amanda Horton was 6th in the 300m dash and 7th in the 55m dash.

FRESHMAN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
RESULTS
The Townie Freshman finished in a tie for 10th at the
Freshman State Championship on Tuesday. Leading the way for the
Townies was Tess Jones and Sierra Cunningham. Jones finished 2nd in
the 600m and Cunningham tied for 3rd in the 300m run in PR and season
best time of 44.0 seconds. Both were involved in scoring relay teams.
The 4 x 200m team finished 5th, Cunningham was joined by Asha Profit,
Kaitlyn Bellamy, and Rachael Finn. Cunningham and Jones were both on
the 6th place finishing 4 x 400m relay team along with Bellamy and
Finn. In the 55m dash Bellamy finished 7th and Finn 8th.

TOWNIES FINISH 3RD AT DIVISION
CHAMPIONSHIP
Townie Girls finished 3rd at the Dwyer
Division Championships. The Townies finished the Dual Meet season in
3rd place with a 6-2 record. Leading the Townies was Nichole Haar
winning the hurdles in a season best time of 9.1 and placing 5th in
the long jump. Also winning for the Townies was Tess Jones in the 600m
run. The 4 x 800m relay was also victorious, the team was comprised of
Catherine Browning, Tara Andrade, Linsey Covington and Samatha
Labrecque. Other Townie scorers included Darian Dailey 2nd in the long
jump, Samantha Labrecque 3rd in the 1000m run, Amanda Horton 4th in
the 55m dash and 5th in the 300m, Sierra Cunningham 4th in the 300m,
Linsey Covington 5th in the 1000m, Rachael Finn 6th in the 55m, and
Sunny Nguyen 6th in the 3000m. The 4 x 400m relay team comprised of
Sierra Cunningham, Kaitlyn Bellamy, Amanda Horton and Tess Jones
finished 2nd in a season best time of 4:37.9. The 4 x 200m team was
4th, this team included Nichole Haar, Sierra Cunningham, Rachael Finn
and Amanda Horton.

TOWNIE GIRLS MOVE TO 5-1
The Townie Girls Indoor Track team moved to 5-1
with 2 wins Tuesday night against Tolman and Mt. Pleasant. The Townies
had a balanced attack with Darian Dailey winning the Long Jump and
breaking her own indoor record with a jump of 16'-4.50" and also tied
with her teammate Rachael Finn in tying in the 55m dash. Nichole Haar
won the hurdles and finished 2nd in the long jump. Catherine Browning
won the 1500m and finished 2nd in the 1000m. Linsey Covington won the
1000m, Tess Jones won the 600m and Amanda Horton won the 300m dash.
The Townie Girls won both relays, the 4 x 200m was comprised of Finn,
Horton, Haar and Deonna DaSilva and the 4 x 400m was comprised of
Horton, Jones, Samantha Landry and Jillian Amaral.

TOWNIE GIRLS WIN 2
Nicole Haar won the 55m hurdles and was
second in the long jump leading the Townies girls to 2 victories
yesterday, defeating Ponaganset and St. Raphael Academy. Other
individual winners were Darian Dailey in the long jump, Deonna DaSilva
55m dash, Tess Jones in the 600m run, Sierra Cunningham in the 300m
dash and Tori Anderson in the 20lb wt throw. The 1600m Relay team
comprised of Tess Jones, Jill Amaral, Darian Dailey and Sierra
Cunningham won the final race of the night.

NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
Nichole Haar finished 26th in the NE Championship on Friday night. Her
time of 9.40 capped a fine season for her. She set the school record
in 55m Hurdles and looks to have a strong outdoor season beginning
March 17 where she holds the school record in 100m Hurdles.

FINISHES FOURTH
Nichole Haar finished fourth at the State
Championships on Saturday in a time of 9.12. Also competing was Lizzie
Costa finishing 12th in the 1500m and Darian Dailey in the 600m. Haar
will compete March 5th in the New Englands at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Townies have 3 girls in the
State Championship on Saturday at the Providence Career and Technical
Academy. Nichole Haar is seeded 3rd in the 55m Hurdles, Darian Dailey
in the 600m is 14th and Lizzie Costa is 16th in the 1500m. The meet
starts at 10am.

Catherine Browning finished 2nd in the 1500m with a time of 5:22.7
and Jordan Anderson finished 3rd in the 20lb wt. Anderon's throw was a
PR, 33'8".

HAAR WINS LARGE CLASS HURDLES
Nichole Haar won the Large School
Hurdles in a school record time of 8.7. Others scoring for the Townies
were the 4 x 200m finished 3rd, this team was made up of Haar, Deonna
Dasilva, Darian Dailey, and Lauren Allienello in season best time of
1:58.3. Dailey finished 3rd in the 600m in a PR time of 1:47.8.
Allienello finished 5th in the 300m with a time of 46.5. Lizzie Costa
finished 6th in the 1500m with a time of 5:15.8.

COSTA LEADS TOWNIES TO 3RD IN DWYER
CHAMPIONSHIP
Lizzie Costa won both the 1000 and
1500m and was the anchor on victorious 4 x 800m relay team last Friday
night at the Dwyer Championship. Also winning for the Townies was
Nichole Haar in the 55m Hurdles. Other point scorers included,
Catherine Browning 2nd in the 3000m and 3rd in the 100m, Darian Dailey
3rd in the 600m run, Jordan Anderson 4th in the 20lb weight, Deonna
DaSilva 5th in the 55m Dash, and Lauren Allienello 5th in the 300m
dash. The 4 x 800m Relay team comprised of Lizzie Costa, Catherine
Browning, Darian Dailey, and Samantha Labrecque won with a time on
11:31.8. The 4 x 200m team of Lauren Allienello, Taylor Chianese,
Nichole Haar and Deonna Dasilva finished 6th. The Townies have their
last chance to qualify on Thursday night in Large Schools Class
Championship, the meet begins at 5:15.

COSTA LEADS TOWNIES TO UPSET OVER
WOONSOCKET
Lizzie Costa led the Townies to an upset win over
Woonsocket and a defeat of Tolman. Lizzie won the 1500m, the 600m and
was the anchor on the winning 4 x 400m relay team comprised of Darian
Dailey, Linsey Covington, Samantha Labreque and Costa. Lauren
Allienello won the 300m dash and was the anchor on winning 4 x 200m
relay, also on the team was Nichole Haar, Darian Dailey and Deonna
Dasilva. Allienello came from behind to nip the Woonsocket anchor at
the finish line. Other individual winners were Nichole Haar in 55m
Hurdles, and Catherine Browning in the 3000m. This was the last dual
meet of the season, the Townie girls finished with a 5-3 record, they
will next compete Saturday at the Headley Invitational at 4PM.

COSTA LEADS TOWNIES TO 2 WINS
Lizzie Costa led the Townies to wins over Mt. Pleasant and
Ponaganset yesterday. She won both the 1500m and 1000m runs. Other
individual winners were Nicole Haar in 55m Hurdles a PR, Darian Dailey
in 300m, Jordan Anderson in 20lb. weight and Catherine Browning in the
3000m. Both relay teams were also winners yesterday, the 4 x 200m team
with Lauren Allienello, Deonna DaSilva, Darian Dailey, and Nicole Haar
and also the 4 x 400m team with Darian Dailey, Samantha Labreque,
Katherine Romain, and Lizzie Costa. The girls will next compete
Saturday at the RITCA Invitational at 12:00 noon,

CARMONE EARNS ALL-STATE
HONORS
Erin Carmone broke her own school record in the 3000m yesterday
winning the RI State Championship, her time was 10:31.30. Carmone also
finished 6th in the 1000m. Nicole Haar finished 7th in the 55m hurdles
(9.48). Also competing for the Townies was Devhan Hurley 7th in the
3000m (11:06.86) and Laura Costa 9th in the 3000m (11:27.19). Townies
had 2 competitors in the 1500m, Lizzie Costa finished 14th with a PR
time of 5:16.84 and Jaden Riendeau finished 16th with a time of
5:22.55. Townies finished 12th as a team. Carmone is the Townie Girls
first all-stater since Nicole Reynolds in 2004.

COSTA AND CARVALHO LEAD
TOWNIES AT JV STATES
Lizzie Costa and Jasmine Carvalho each won 2 events leading
the Townies to a fourth place finish in the JV States. Costa won the
1500m and 1000m with times of 5:35.0 and 3:24.0 and Carvalho won Shot
Put on her final throw of 28-10 and weight with a PR of 35-9. Also
scoring for the Townies was Lauren Allienello 5th in the 45m Dash and
tied 4th with Emily Barron in the high jump.

BROWNING SHINES AT FRESHMAN
STATES
Catherine Browning led the Townies to an 8th
place finish at the Freshman States on Monday night. Browning had PRs
in both the 1500 (5:20.4) and 1000 (3:28) in finishing 2nd and 3rd
respectively. Darien Dailey finished 6th in the 45m Dash in a PR of
6.7. Also having a PR was Deonna DaSilva in the semis of the 45m Dash
with a PR of 6.7. Alyson Cahir finished 9th in the Shot Put with a PR
of 21'-11".

TOWNIES LED BY CARMONE & CARVALHO
The Townie Girls finished tied for 3rd yesterday in the Hird Division
Championship. Jasmine Carvalho was the only Townie first place
finisher with a throw of 28ft 4in in the shot put. Erin Carmone
continues to have maybe the best season of any Townie distance runner,
she finished 2nd in the 3000m run and broke her 4th individual school
record by running a time of 10:33.4. She holds the record in the 600m
which she broke as a sophmore and this season she has broken the
1000m, 1500m and 3000m records. Also scoring for the Townies was
Nicole Haar 3rd in the 45m hurdles with a PR of 7.6. Laura Costa was
4th in the 1500m run, Catherine Browning was sixth in the 3000m with a
PR of 11:52.3. Emily Barron finished tied for 3rd in the high jump.
The Townies relays finished a very respectable 2nd in the 4 x 800m
(Laura Costa, Lizzie Costa, Jaden Riendeau, and Devhan Hurley) and the
4 x 1 Lap relay was 4th (Nicole Haar, Darien Dailey, Deonna DaSilva,
Lauren Allienello).

TOWNIES DEFEAT PILGRIM WIN 2ND IN A ROW
Erin Carmone has had an outstanding senior
season so far, it got better last night when she smashed Mindy Pinto's
11-year old record in the 1000 last night with a time of 3:08.1. Also
having a great senior season is Laura Costa when she set a PR in the
3000m run by running a time of 10:58.2. Also setting PR were Lauren
Allienello with a 6.5 in winning the 45m dash,Nicole Haar ran 7.8 in
winning the 45m hurdles. Devhan Hurley ran 11:06.9 in finishing 2nd to
Laura Costa in the 3000m run. Lizzie Costa ran 5:22.4 to win the 1500m
run. Jaden Riendeau (5:23.9) and Catherine Browning (5:26.3) in
finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 1500m. Emily Barron won the high jump
with a jump of 4-4. Jasmine Carvalho finished 2nd in both the weight
and the shot put.

WAHEED BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD BECOMES ALL-AMERICAN
Tope Waheed competing in the National Indoor Scholastic on Sunday
finished 6th with a throw of 51' 9.25", by finishing 6th becomes
an Indoor Track All-American. Her throw broke her own school
record set last month at the State Championships at URI.

TOWNIES FINISH 9TH IN THE STATE MEET
Tope Waheed broke the school record in the 20lb weight at
the State Meet on Sunday. Waheed's throw of 48' 10.5" was good for
2nd. She is currently ranked 9th in the nation. The 4 x 800m Relay
team finished 4th in a school record time of 10:16.07, on the record
setting team was Laura Costa, Devhan Hurley, Lizzie Costa and Erin
Carmone. Erin Carmone finished 7th in the 1000m run and Laura Costa
finished 14th in the 3000m run. Devhan Hurley finished 13th and Jaden
Riendeau 15th in a PR time of 5:27.00 in the 1500m run.

TOWNIE GIRLS FINISH 6TH
The Girls Indoor Team arguably had their finest meet on Friday night.
The 4 x 800m Relay team again broke the school record by winning the
large schools class championship, this time running a time of 10:31.2.
This was almost 9 seconds fastest than the previous record. Winning
team was Laura Costa, Erin Carmone, Devhan Hurley and Lizzie Costa.
Tope Waheed won the 20lb weight throw and finished 4th in the shot
put. Laura Costa finished 4th in the 3000m run with a indoor PR time
of 11:23. Erin Carmone finished 2nd in the 1000m run with a time of
3:11.3.

WAHEED LEADS TOWNIES
Tope Waheed threw her personal best last night at the Hird Division
Championship leading the townies. Waheed's throw of 48'-2" is second
only to Molly Hawksley's school record of 48'-2 3/4". Waheed also
finished 3rd in the shot put. The 4 x 800m Relay team of Laura Costa,
Lizzie Costa, Devhan Hurley and Erin Carmone finished first with a
time of 10:40.0, setting the school record for the 3rd time this
season. The Girls will again compete next Friday at the Large
Schools Class Championships.

The Townies Girls had an opportunity to qualify for the states with
the Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday. Individual bettering their
performances were Erin Carmone in the 1000m (3:20.5 PR), Chantelle
Plouffe in the 45m hurdles (8.5 PR), Lauren Manning in the 20lb. Wt
(35 1.5 PR).

The Townie Girls lost to Pilgrim on Thursday 60-40. Individual winners
for the Townies were Laura Costa in the 3000m (11:31.8), Tope Waheed

TOWNIES WIN FIRST MEET
The Girls Indoor Track
Team defeated West Warwick yesterday 64-36. The Townie Girls were led
by Erin Carmone who won the 1500m (5:21.4) and 600m (1:49.6), Tope
Waheed who won the 20 pound weight (42-4.5") and the Shot Put (31-6").
Other individual winners were Laura Costa 1000m (3:30.1), Devhan
Hurley 3000m (11:41.8), Nicole Haar 45m Hurdles (8.7), Emily Barron

URI INVITATIONAL RESULTS
The Townie Girls competed on Saturday at the URI Invitational. All
athletes set indoor PRs and it was a good meet for all. Leading the
Townies was Tope Waheed finishing 2nd in the 20lb Weight Throw (47-6)
and 9th in the Shot Put (30-11 3/4). In the 55m Hurdles, Nicole Harr
finished 18th (10.29) and Chantelle Plouffe 21st (10.44). In the 1500m
Run, Erin Carmone finished 8th (5:15.04), Laura Costa 14th (5:22.94),
Jaden Riendeau 33th (5:43.68), and Lizzie Costa 38th (5:48.05).

The Townie Girls' Track team lost to LaSalle last night 76 1/3 to 26
2/3. Individual winners were Laura Costa in the 1500m (5:27), Devhan
Hurley in the 3000m (11:32.2), Erin Carmone in the 600m (1:46.7) and
Tope Waheed in the 20lb Wt. (44-5). The Townies will be competing
Saturday at the URI Invitational, the meet begins at 10:30.

The 4 x 800m Relay Team made up of Laura Costa, Lizzie Costa, Devhan
Hurley and Erin Carmone set the school record yesterday with a time of
10:43. Also placing for the Lady Townies was Erin Carmone 2nd in the
600m Run and Tope Waheed 2nd in the 25 pound weight.

THE TOWNIES LOSE TWO
The Townie Girls lost 2 meets on Monday. In the meet with
Barrington, the Townies had a chance for a tie but lost the 4 x 400m
Relay. The Scores of the meets were Coventry 72.5-23.5 and Barrington
55-45. Individual winners were Tope Waheed in both the Shot Put and
20lb. weight. Erin Carmone was 2nd in the 600m run.

INJURY FUND RELAY RESULTS
The 20lb weight team
consisting of Tope Waheed, Lauren Manning and Lindsey Poole won the
event at the Eastern Injury Fund Relay Carnival. Placing second in the
high jump was the team of Emily Barron and Kerri Wall. The Distance
Medley Team made up of Laura Costa, Erin Carmone, Lizzie Costa and
Devhan Hurley finished third.

REYNOLDS, ADDISON BOTH FINISH 5th
Nicole Reynolds and Amanda Addison both finished fifth
in the RI State Championships. Addison broke her own school record
with her last throw of 32'5". Reynolds a favorite in the 300m finished
5th with a season best time of 43.65. Both Reynolds and Addison will
compete in the New England Championship on March 3 at the Reggie Lewis
Center.

Jessica Eddy won the 45m hurdles with a time of 8.1 a
personal record for her. Shannon Smith finished 3rd in the 45m Dash
with a time of 6.8 and Joanna Ricci finished 3rd in the 1500m run with
a time of 5:27. The Townie Girls next compete on Sunday at State
Championships at URI. Nicole Reynolds is seeded 2nd in the 300m run
and looks to defend her state title. Freshman Laura Costa gets her
first chance and is seeded 12th in the 3000m run. Amanda Addison is
seeded 6th in the shot put and Tope Waheed in her first state meet is
seeded 14th in the 20lb. weight throw.

Nicole Reynolds won the 300m
in 44.0 sec and was the anchor on both the 4 x 400m and 4 x 1 Lap
relays. The 4 x 400m team comprised of Reynolds, Jill Pereira, Joanna
Ricci and Erin Carmone finished 2nd while the 4 x 1 Lap team of
Reynolds, Shannon Smith, Jessica Eddy and Carmone finished 6th. Laura
Costa finished 3rd in the 3000m run with a time of 11:23, this was a
personal best for her in this event. Amanda Addison continued her fine
season finishing 3rd in the shot put. Reynolds, Costa, Addison, and
Tope Waheed will all be competing in the State Championship on Sunday
at URI.

DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
The Townies led by Nicole Reynolds, Joanna
Ricci, Amanda Addison, and Tope Waheed finished 3rd in the Sullivan
Division Championships on Friday night. Reynolds won the 300m in state
best time of 44.0 and finished 4th in the 45m Dash. Joanna Ricci in
her best performance of the season finished 3rd in the 1500m (5:22.0)
and fifth in the 1000m (3:30.1) . Other top placements included Tope
Waheed, 3rd place in the 20lb. Weight throw with a throw of 36'5.5" a
personal best. Jessica Eddy finished 4th in the hurdles, Laura Costa
finished 4th in the 3000m and 4 x 1 Lap team of Shannon Smith, Jessica
Eddy, Erin Carmone and Nicole Reynolds finished 5th. Next up for the
Townie Lady Tracksters is Friday Night the Large Schools Class
Championship at 6PM.

TOWNIES SUFFER TOUGH LOSSES
The Townie Girls Track team ran into arguably
the toughest two teams in the Sullivan Division on Thursday. Most of
the team had good performances but came up with only one individual
winner as Nicole Reynolds won the 300m Dash in a time of 45.1 her best
performance of the season. Other top performers were Mary Costa in the
3000m, Laura Costa (1500m & 1000m), Jessica Eddy (45m hurdles), and
Jill Periera (600m).

TOWNIES WIN PAIR
The Townies Girls improved their record to 2-1 with 2
victories on Thursday night. In a very close meet with Bay View that
came down to the last event, the girls got a hard fought win. The
Townies also defeated Cranston East. Individual event winners were
Nicole Reynolds (45m Dash, 300m Run, anchor on both the 4 x 1 Lap
Relay and 4 x 400m Relay), Joanna Ricci (1000m Run), Amanda Addison
(Shot Put), and first time winner Tope Waheed in the 20lb Weight. The
Girl Tracksters next meet is Thursday, January 12 against 2 very tough
teams Westerly and Classical.

TOWNIES FALL TO EG
The Townie Girls lost a tough dual meet to
East Greenwich by a score of 54-45. The Townies were led by their
seniors Nicole Reynolds, Joanna Ricci, Jill Pereira and Amanda Addison
who were all event winners. Reynolds won the 45m and 300m, Ricci won
the 1500m, Pereira won the 600m and Addison won the shot put.

The Townie Girls finished 4th yesterday
in the annual Injury Fund Meet at CCRI Lincoln. The Shot Put team of
Amanda Addison, Kathy Marques, and Samantha Peter finished first.
Other relays placing were the 4 x 400m team of Nicole Reynolds, Jill
Pereira, Lauren Goulart and Erin Carmone finishing 4th and
the 4 x 800m Relay team consisting of Joanna Ricci, Ashley Boulais,
Kristen Silva, and Laura Costa finished 5th.

Molly Hawksley finished up a great indoor season with
an eighth place finish in the 20lb. Wt at the Nike Indoor Nationals.
Molly finished with a throw of 46'03". Molly set the school record
with a throw of 48'02.75" at the Weightarama at Brown University the
week before.

In the New Englands last Friday night at the Reggie Lewis Center
Nicole Reynolds finished 14th in the 300m and the 4 x 800m Relay team made up of
Rachael Procter, Megan Lima, Joanna Ricci, and Lauren Goulart finished

REYNOLDS IS FIRST ALL-STATER
IN 4 YEARS
Nicole Reynolds in her best performance of the
season won the 300m run in 42.33 seconds. She follows up her victory
in the Large Schools Championship with PR in the 300m. Also
placing in the State Championship was Molly Hawksley with a 3rd place
finish. Other Townie girls competing all in their first indoor state
meet were Rachael Procter finishing 12th in the 1000m and 17th in the
1500m. Amanda Addison finished 12th in the shot put. The Townie Girls
were also represented in the 4 x 400m Relay with a 7th place finish,
the team was comprised of Nicole Reynolds, Megan Lima, Sheree Gomes,
and Felicia Roderick in a time of 4:20.15, their best time of the
season. The team of Reynolds, Gomes, Roderick and Shannon Smith
finished 9th in the 4 x 200m Relay with a time of 1:53.27.

JV STATES RESULTS
Congratulations to the following girls for their
excellent performances in the JV States on Friday Night. Competing in
the 1500m run, Joanna Ricci finished 2nd with a personal best time of
5:23. Laura Lydon 5:36 and Kristen Silva 6:06 also had PRs for the
night. In the 600m, Lauren Goulart competing for the first time
in the event ran a 1:53 finishing 5th. In the 20lb. Weight
throw, Amber Dove had a personal best distance of 28'10.

TRACK MEET
POSTPONED
The Girls' Track Meet scheduled for tonight at 8PM has been
postponed. It will be rescheduled.

TOWNIE GIRLS WIN FIRST MEET
On Saturday night the Girls' Indoor Track Team defeated
Mount St. Charles 78-16 winning their first meet. The Townies on
the strength of Nicole Reynolds, Rachael Procter, and Joanna Ricci
won 11 of the 12 events. Highlights of the meet included Amanda
Addison's throw of 31' 0" to set the school record and win the shot
put. Nicole Reynolds won 2 events 45m Dash (6.6), 300m Dash
(46.1) and was the anchor leg on both winning relay teams 4 x 1 Lap and 4
x 400m.
Multi-event winners were Rachael Procter 3000m run (12:11) and 600m
(1:56.5) and Joanna Ricci 1500m run (5:44.3) and 1000m (3:43.8). Other event winners Molly Hawksley 20lb. Weight (41' 0" ft.), and
Danielle Smith 45m hurdles (8.8).
Townies next meet is Sunday afternoon at 5PM against
Bay View and Warwick Vets at Moses Brown. The Girls' Team's
record is 1-1-1.
