>Nov. 16, 2009-- SEVERAL TOWNIE PLAYERS EARN POST SEASON ACCOLADES. Post season awards were announced by the RI Volleyball Coaches Association and many Townie players earned spots on the All State and All Division Teams. Senior captains, Jessica Amaral and Amanda Cabral earned First Team All-State and First Team All-Division. Sophomore Alex Amaral earned Second Team All-State and First Team All-Division. Senior Morganne Booker and sophomore Kim Thomas both earned Second Team All-Division. Junior Charlotte Newton earned Third Team All-Division. Congratulations to the girls for their accomplishments. >Nov. 14, 2009-- CRUSADERS PROVE TO BE TOO MUCH FOR THE TOWNIES, WIN 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-15). EP put forth a championship effort, but couldn't come up with the necessary plays to turn back a solid Prout team. EP had its chance to makes its mark in Game 1, and let it slip away with unforced passing errors and untimely hitting. Game 2 had Prout jumping out to an early lead only to have the Townies fight back to tie the game at 16. EP again couldn't muster enough offense to hurt the Prout defense. In game 3, the Crusaders took it to the Townies with their serving and precision hitting. Overall it was a tremendous season for EP. The team started out unsure of who would lead and who would play where, only to end up playing in the finals. This team should be extremely proud of their accomplishments. 6 seniors finish their Townie careers: Jessica Amaral, Morganne Booker, Amanda Cabral, Ashley Curti, Kelsey Durand, and Brittany Pietruszka. Thank you girls for all you have done for the program.

The Townies played a roller coaster match with a ton of hitting errors (30), 10 net calls, and an overall lack of execution. The team was pushed hard by an inspired LaSalle team on their Senior Night. EP trailed 14-11 in game 5 as Alex Amaral served for 5 straight points. Amanda Cabral had a game high 21 kills, and left a lot of points on the floor. The quartet of Jessica Amaral, Ashley Curti, Alex Amaral and Cabral combined for an outrageous 97 digs. >Oct. 19, 2009-- TOWNIES TURN IN A SOLID GAME AT BURRILLVILLE, "BUCK" THE BRONCOS 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-14). EP bounced back after a subpar performance, and played the consistent volleyball that is expected and needed to be successful on the homestretch of the season. The team's offense has really taken off, and Amanda Cabral led the way tonight with 12 kills. The middle duo of Booker and Thomas once again turned in a solid game with 10 kills and 8 blocks combined. The team will play tomorrow night against rival, Classical on Senior Night. 6 seniors will play their last regular season home game; Jessica Amaral, Morgan Booker, Amanda Cabral, Ashley Curti, Kelsey Durand, and Brittany Pietruszka. EP had 30 ball handling errors, numerous serve receive errors and couldn't close out game 3 in which they led 19-15. EP simply didn't focus, play as a team or play with a sense of urgency. >Oct. 15, 2009-- TOWNIES ARE FEATURED IN THE PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO READ THE STORY
