TOWNIES BLANK KNIGHTS TO
AVENGE EARLY SEASON TIE
Providence Country Day is responsible for one of
the two blemishes on the East Providence High School Hockey team's
2005-06 record. A December tie with the Knights left the
Townies 0-1-1 in league play and left many questioning whether or
not the graduation of Louis Peterson, David Hill, and Travis Barao
would lead to a season long struggle for the Townies. The
answer to that question is that the Townies have rattled off
thirteen straight wins since that early December tie with PCD,
including Friday night's dominating performance at Burrillville.
The Townies outshot the Knights 38-8 and defeated them 5-0 behind
strong efforts by Ross Amaral (2 goals), Kyle Croke
(1 goal), Mike Cicerone (2 assists), Tony Galvao (2
assists), and Jeff Fontes (pp goal). Cameron Ford
notched his third shut out of the season.
