Boys Outdoor Track & Field: Townies Finish In Top Five And Moura Is Long Jump King At Classical Classic

The boys Outdoor Track & Field team continued their string of impressive performances this Spring at the state level, finishing fifth in the team totals at the Classical Classic. The Classical Classic took place on Saturday May 12, 2012 at Conley Stadium in Providence, RI. The meet is a prestigious state meet qualifier. Chris Moura was the Townies lone champion winning the Long Jump. Moura also place fourth in the Triple Jump. Ryan Williams unfortunately had his individual undefeated season come to an end. Boys Outdoor Track & Field: Townies Earn Multiple Individual Titles And Finish Impressive Third At Eastern Division Championship

The Boys Outdoor Track & Field team turned in another impressive performance yesterday (May 8,  2012 ), in the Eastern Division Championship held at Barrington Sr. High School.  The Townies finished third in the team total, recording over 110 total points.  Many Townies also won individual championships and all division honors as a result of their performance in the meet. Boys volleyball beats the Rams!

In their third consecutive 5 set match the Townies outlasted their opponent.  East Providence opened the night with a 19-25 lost then rebounded to take games two and three 25-23 and 28-26.  The rams came back and won game four  20-25 forcing a game 5.  The Townies rallied around the serving of Jacob Bedford to open up with a 7-3 lead and then never gave it up winning 15-11.  The Townies were led by Victor Adewusi & Corey Agin in the midd Read more »

Boys Outdoor Track & Field: Williams Wins 100 Meter And Places In 200 Meter, Rambert And Pelletier Place At Schomp Invitational

Sophomore Ryan Williams won the 100 meter and finished fifth in the 200 Meter at the prestigious Rick Schomp Invitational (State Meet Qualifier). Williams efforts helped the Townies record their best finish at the Schomp Invitational in three years. The Schomp Invitational was held under rainy conditions on Saturday May 5, 2012 at Exeter/West Greenwich High School' s new track & field facility. Since the Schomp Invitational is the first State Meet Qualifier held this season Williams is now ranked number one in the state of Rhode Island in the 100 Meter and fifth in the 200 Meter. Boys Volleyball back on winning track!

The boys volleyball team traveled to Coventry last night to take on the 4th place Oakers.  The Townies started the night with Will Schofield (sophomore) setting in place of  starting setter Jarrod DiCarlo, who was on the sidelines due to a ankle sprain suffered in practice Monday.  Schofield made the most of his debut by missing a Townie single match record by 1 assist as he put up an impressive 46 assists, 3 kills, and 10 digs.  Offensively the Townies we Read more »

Boys Outdoor Track & Field: Townies Defeat Mt. Hope And St. Raphael, Finish Duel Meet Season 7 Wins And 2 Losses

The Boys' Outdoor Track & Field team finished the duel meet portion of their season in style by defeating both Mt. Hope and St. Raphael Academy on Wednesday May 2, 2012.  The Townies defeated Mt. Hope 99-48 and St. Raphael Academy 117-17. Read more »

Townies Hockey Team visiting the State House this afternoon, City Council tonight!

The D3 Champion Townies Hockey Team has been invited to visit the State House today, Tuesday May 1st. The players will be recognized in both Chambers of the legislature. All players should meet at the Smith St entrance no later than 3:30. 

Tonight, the team will be recognized by the East Providence City Council in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Players should meet in the lobby of City Hall by 7:15.

Parents, fans and friends are invited to both events.

Boys volleyball drops a tough on to Hendricken!

The boys volleyball team turned in a tremendous effort but came up short losing to Hendricken 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 21-25). In the middle Victor Adewusi had 4 kills and 6 blocks while Corey Agin added 7 kills and 2 blocks. Outside hitter Jacob Bedford was good for 9 kills and 12 digs and Brandon Pietruszka and Eric Towne each had a dozen digs.

Volleyball drop second straight match

The boys volleyball team lost its second straight match to South Kingstown 3-0 (18-25, 23-25, 20-25).  The Townies struggled again on serve reception and offense but look to  rebound tonight on the road at Hendricken.

Boys Outdoor Track & Field: Townies Defeat Middletown Improve To Five Wins And Two Losses On Season

The Boys Outdoor Track & Field team defeated Middletown High School 88-46 in an Eastern Division dual meet held at Gaudet Middle School on April 24, 2012. With the win the Townies upped their divisional record to five wins and two losses in the always tough Eastern Division. Read more »
