After back and forth action early in the first half, Woonsocket asserted themselves on the offensive glass and extended their lead 32-19 at the break. The Townies followed the halftime defensive adjustment to a tee, holding the Villa Novans to just 20 second half points, and cut the lead to five (39-34) with just over six minutes to go. Unfortunately, turnovers and offensive struggles prevented the team from getting any closer. The team shot 23% from the field, 7-19 from the stripe, and finished with 20 turnovers. Alyssa Dias led all scorers with 21 points. Congratulations to the JV team for getting their first win on the season in dramatic overtime fashion. Both teams travel to Barrington this Friday for a game against rival Barrington.
