Girls Basketball: Townies Show Toughness, But Bay View's Depth Proves to be Too Much
On a night where the Townies honored their five seniors, the team came out and matched the undefeated Bengals blow for blow throughout the first half and trailed by just four (27-23) at the break. The Bengals then quickly stretched their lead to 14 behind the hot shooting of Rachel Battista (28 points, 6 three pointers) with 22 of those points coming in the second half. Still, the Townies continued to battle and play hard in honor of their soon to bee graduates. The team was paced by senior Bianca Vails, and junior Brittany Crosby who had 12 points each in the effort. The team has one regular season game left this Friday against Cumberland, and await their first round playoff opponent which will be announced this coming Saturday morning.
