for 18 strikeouts.
Freshman, Jocelyn Nestell

homerun and a double. Jenn
Dygon also homered for the
Townies. |

were very aggressive as
Elissia Wahl lined an RBI
single to right scoring

spectacular performance was
turned in by the Townies.
Unagressive hitting and
baserunning were on display
. Good pitching and solid
defense were the bright
spots. |

Jackie Glover
pitched 6 strong innings
allowing 0 runs. Jenn Dygon
and Nicole LaCasse paced the
offense as the Townies
struck first in the
victory. The Townies'
defense was solid, as the
Lions scored only once. |

Normand combined to allow
only one run, in an
impressive victory over the
very strong Skippers.
Nicole LaCasse, Jocelyn
Nestell and Elissia Wahl led
the offense. LaCasse
finished the day with 3
RBI. The defense was
exellent with outstanding
plays by Andrea Medeiros,
Melissa Hunt and Jocelyn
Nestell (threw out 4 steal
attempts). |

The Townies
opener was a disappointing
loss. Ashley Stringfellow
and Jackie Glover combined
to pitch a one hitter. They
allowed four walks, and
struck out five batters in
the 2-0 loss and certainly
pitched well enough to win.
However, the Townie offense
was slowed by a strong
pitching effort from the
Portsmouth hurler. Sara
Laurino and Jenn Dygon had
the only hits for EP. |

String
Throws No-Hitter!!
Ashley
Stringfellow threw a
no-hitter and Jenn Dygon
tripled and homered to lead
the Townies over Middletown
7-0. String was helped
defensively by right fielder
Kerri DiQuinzio as she threw
out two runners at first
base. Jocelyn Nestell and
DiQuizio each added an RBI
for the 1-1 Townies.
Stringfellow struck out six
and walked four in her
no-no. |

Playoff
atmosphere. Good teams. Good
pitching. Nice win for the
Townies. Ashley
Stringfellow allowed only 3
hits and Jenn Dygon went 2
for 2 at the plate as EP
recorded its second win of
the week. The Townies took
what they were given scoring
3 runs on 3 hits. The EP
defense was strong. Dygon
turned a key double play in
the 7th inning preserving
the win. |

Stephanie
Normand's debut provides
relief for the Townies.
Normand went six innings,
allowed one hit, no runs and
five strikeouts. Elissia
Wahl smacked a solo homerun
in the fifth inning
providing some breathing
room. Jenn Dygon, Jackie
Glover, Sara Laurino, and
Melissa Hunt all helped EP
improve to 3-1. On to
North!!! |

The ball is
dropped!! Excellent chance
to beat one of the premiere
teams in the league is
missed. EP, leading 2-1
with two outs in the 6th,
can't come up with the
needed play. The result is a
tough 4-2 loss. EP's bats
account for only 3 hits.

Nestell lead the offense
with a double and triple
respectively. |

Ashley

Normand allowed only one hit
while striking out 11
Wizards to pace the
Townies. Jackie Glover had
two hits and four RBI's to
lead the offense. Melissa
Hunt, Jenn Dygon, Elissia
Wahl and Camely Machado all
had big hits for EP.
Excellent sauce and

Westerly |
W 6-5 |
Not a pretty
win, but a win!! EP took
advantage of three walks and
an error in the seventh
inning, scoring four runs in
a come from behind victory.
Becky Rodericks led the
offense with two hits and a
run scored. Melissa Hunt
made a great catch to save a
run in the sixth inning.
Jenn Dygon and Hunt turned
the first conventional
double play in two years.
Sara Laurino also played
well defensively for the
Townies. |

Jenn Dygon's
solo homerun proved to be
the difference in the
pitcher's duel. Ashley
Stringfellow threw a
complete game shutout,
allowing only 2 hits while
strinking out 8 Rebels.
Elissia Wahl added a double
for the Townies. |

Normand fired a five hitter
and walked none to
lead the Townies. Marcia
Huftalen led the offense
with two hits and an RBI.
Normand also contributed the
game winning RBI on a
sacrifice fly in the fourth
inning. Excellent defensive
contributions were turned in
by Sara Laurino, Jenn Dygon,
Ashley Stringfellow and
Huftalen. |

Great Win! No
Walks, No Errors and 2
Sacrifices equals excellent
win. Ashley Stringfellow
allowed four hits, 0
walks, and struck out 7
as the Townies moved into
sole posession of second
place in 1-South. Stephanie
Normand had two hits and two
RBI's to help lead the
offense. Jenn Dygon,
Stringfellow, Sara Laurino,
and Marcia Huftalen also had
big games for EP. |

The second
annual 10X game was a huge
success on the field and for
The Women's Center of Rhode
Island. The String's
camper, T-shirts, guests,
channel 10, weather and the
hitting by group 2 made for
an excellent day. Ciara
Charbonneau, Kelly
Deschenes, Hollie Saunders,
Camely Machado, and Ali
Huftalen all led the offense
for group 2. Charbonneau
hit a homerun for the
Townies. |

Jocelyn
Nestell's two run triple and
Stephanie Normand's RBI
single highlighted a 4 run
fourth inning that propelled
the Townies to victory.
Normand and Ashley
Stringfellow allowed only
two hits (2 triples). The
game wasn't one of EP's
best, but it proved to be
enough for a W. |

Normand was 2-5 with a
double, triple and 4 RBI's.
Jocelyn Nestell was 2-3 with
a triple and an RBI. Melissa

a hit and an RBI each as the
Townies romped. Ashley
Stringfellow and Stephanie
Normand combined to allow
only 2 hits and 10k's.
Easily the best offensive
game of the year. |

outstanding defensive plays

the difference in the game.
Tied 2-2, a tough call and
four errors help to halt the
EP win streak at 8 games.
Jenn Dygon was 2-3 to lead
the offense and Elissia Wahl

assist in the field for the
11-3 Townies. |

to play!! Excellent defense,

run. A few to remember-

squeeze. Jenn Dygon going
first to third on a passed
ball. Ashley Stringfellow's
one walk allowed. Melissa
Hunt's all around play in
the field. Jocelyn Nestell

game, striking out 9 and
walking none. The
Townies were helped by 18
walks. Nicole LaCasse made
a great diving stop in right
to save a run in the 7th

3 runs scored. Stephanie

Normand finished with 2
earned runs, 2 hits and 6
K's. The Townies showed
great heart as the Rebels
7th inning comeback was
halted as Hunt and Dygon
hooked up on a game ending
double play. |

Poor offense, Poor
defense!! A division
championship was
squandered. 6 errors, 2
hits and flat. Elissia Wahl
and Jocelyn Nestell both hit
solo homeruns for EP. The
Townies finished the regular
season at 17-4 overall and
16-4 in league play. |

LaSalle |
W 5-1 |
The Townies
advanced to the second round
of the state tournament by
beating a hot LaSalle team
5-1. Ashley Stringfellow
threw a no-hitter!!
String struck out 4 and
walked 2 in the complete
game victory. Jenn Dygon's
triple in the 4th inning got
the Townies on the board as
she scored on a throwing
error on the play. Sara
Laurino's suicide squeeze
and Melissa Hunt's two out
single drove in two other
runs for the Townies.
Laurino, Andrea Medeiros and
Marcia Huftalen played
excellent defense for EP. |
June 13
St. Ray's |
L 6-4 |
The Townies
dug themselves a deep whole
as St.Ray's scored five
times in the fourth inning
and took a 6-1 lead. Jenn
Dygon and Jocelyn Nestell
led the offense back to
striking distance (6-4) but
EP could not score with
runners on second and third
in the 5th and 6th innings.
Stephanie Normand relieved
Ashley Stringfellow in the
3rd inning allowing one run
(unearned) while holding the
Saints hitless. Jenn Dygon
capped a great year with 3
hits, 1 run scored, 3 stolen
bases, and an RBI. Nestell
chipped in with a double,
walk, run scored and an RBI.
The Townies finished their
fine season at 18-5. |
