Five Townies qualify for the New Englands, 10 place
Bob Blakely, Josh Lombardi and, Stacy Weeden added themselves to
the roll of State Champions from EPHS. Rich Dellefemine and
Steve Gomes placed third and will also receive a trip to the New
England Champioships in Connecticut next weekend. The Townies
placed second at the States, 1/2 point behind Cranston West.
Also placing were Brian Partington who took
5th, and Anthony Creighton, John Speaks, Jessie Blakely, and
Tommy Speaks, who took 6th place.
February 16, 2006
Townies drop another tough one to Cranston West
CW went on to win the Dual Meet State Championship in the finals
versus Bishop Hendricken. The Townies now look to the State
Championships next weekend at RIC.

EP wins final home match of the season vs. NP
The Townies ended the regular dual
meet season with a strong finish over North Providence 50-10.
Seniors and their parents were recognized for their

EP wins Warwick Tournament
The Townies won the Warwick Vets Tournament for the third year
in a row, placing six wrestlers in the finals. Bobby Blakely,
Josh Lombardi, and Steven Gomes won the championship. Stacy
Weeden, Richard Dellefemine, and John Speaks took 2nd. Jared
Silva and Anthony Creighton placed third.

Townies take down Panthers
On Thursday night, EP defeated Johnston 54-20. Stacey Weeden had
a big win at 130 lbs., defeating returning state place finisher
Derek Trahan. Josh Harrison-Lombardi continued his perfect
season (21-0) with a second period pin. Bob Blakely also pinned
hi opponent and remains undefeated in RI competition.

EP wins 2 and loses 2 over the weekend
The Townie wrestling team started off
the weekend with a tough 2-point loss to undefeated Cranston
West. Josh Harrison-Lombardi moved up a weight class to defeat
last year's 3rd place finisher at 189 in double-overtime.
In the annual MLK,Jr. Day quad meet, the
Townies went 2-1 defeating Pilgrim and Warwick Vets, but dropped
another close match to defending State Champs Cumberland.

Townies top Cranston East
EP took on a depleted Cranston East
team and came out with a 48-12 victory. The brother tandem of
John and Tommy Speaks lead the Townies with a pair of pins.

Townies champs at Belmont
The Townie Wrestling team won the
Brendon Cerant Memorial Tournament in Belmont, MA this weekened.
Josh Harrison Lombardi, Stacy Weeden and Bobby Blakley all won
their weight classes. Brian Partington and Jessie Blakley
finished second.
December 29, 2005
Townies start off season 8-2
After a disappointing start to the
Christmas season losing to Bishop
Hendricken High School 50-21, The Townie wrestling team
has won six matches in a row.
The
Townies started the win streak by defeating Concord-Carlyle
62-16 and Somerset High School 49-28 at the Bishop
Hendricken quad meet.
Next up for the Townies was the East
Providence Christmas Tournament. In the initial match, East
Providence defeated
South Kingstown 45-35. In the next two matches, the Townies
defeated Woonsocket and Ponaganset by the scores of 54-30 and
59-12 respectively. The Townie wrestlers finished the tournament
off with a win in the Championship finals over Chariho.
The Townies' record now stands at 8-2.
