Head coach Tom Galligan (EPHS Class of 1978) has lead
the Townies since 1994. During his tenure as coach of the
East Providence High School wrestling team, he has helped
produce 14 Rhode Island individual state champions, two New
England champions, and a runner-up and an All-American. In
addition, Coach Galligan has served as the President of the
Rhode Island Wrestling Coaches Association.
After wrestling for the
Townies, Coach Galligan attended Southern Connecticut State
University where he wrestled for four seasons. He is
currently a teacher at the East Providence High School
Vocational-Technical Center.
Former EPHS wrestler Glen
Salgueiro (EPHS Class of 1987) has been the Townies'
Assistant Coach since 1996. Over the past two summers, Coach
Sal has coached teams from the United States at
international competitions in Australia.
Aside from wrestling, Coach
Sal also coaches football and baseball. A graduate of Rhode
Island College, Coach Sal is a Social Studies teacher at
Martin Middle School. |
